These requirements cover industrial control panels intended for general use, operating from a voltage of 600 volts of less.  This equipment is intended for installation in ordinary locations, in accordance with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 where the environment is unclassified.

UL 698A

These requirements cover industrial control panels intended for installation in unclassified locations with intrinsically safe circuit extensions into Class I, Class II, Division 1 hazardous (classified) locations in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70.
